Manvantara & Pralaya
The universe exists for a while and then sort of doesn’t
Our
universe will exists for a given period of activity and then will go into the
Pralaya, a period of rest or obscuration during which for all practical
purposes it will only exist in potential.
The
universe will manifest again after the Pralaya as it moves into another
Manvantara.
The
situation of the universe in Pralaya is similar to a football crowd which
exists for the duration of the match and then disappears to exist in potential
and reappears at the next game.
The
activity and rest of the universe is governed by the principle of periodicity,
which is an integral part of Universal
Law
The
term Manvantara is a Sanskrit word meaning between two Manus. Manus are the
entities which appear at the beginning of a period of activity (Root Manu) and
at the end (Seed Manu) preceding the period of rest of Pralaya.
Types
of Manvantara
The
Manvantara mentioned above is the Universal Manvantara. There are many kinds of
Manvantara
such as:-
Saurya Manvantara – Solar System Manvantara
Bhaumika Manvantara – Earth Manvantara
Paurusha Manvantara – Manvantara of Man
The
