Earth’s Planetary Chain

Our Companion Globes

Beginning with the least material Globe A, the Lifewave has descended through

the progressively more material Globes B & C to Globe D, the most material.

The Lifewave will then rise again through the less material Globes E, F & G.

The Lifewave will do 7 Tours of the Globes altogether.

We are currently on the 4^th Tour of the Globes

Theosophy proposes that everything that exists in physical manifestation began in spirit and retains it spirit counterpart interpenetrating its material form. This process of descent into matter is called involution. The process continues with an ascent back to spirit form.

The material Earth we live on therefore began as spirit and therefore has corresponding spirit bodies.

We are living on the most material of seven Globes. These other six corresponding Globes interpenetrate our own Globe (what we know as the Earth) and each other although we cannot perceive them

The current earth-Globe on which we live, or more specifically the Lifewave is visiting, is the fourth of seven Globes. The Lifewave makes a tour of all seven Globes and this is called a Planetary-Round (sometimes just “round”) of the Earth’s Manvantara. We are currently on Round 4 of 7.

The 7 Tours of the Globes are called a Planetary Manvantara

Each Globe corresponds to one of the seven planes of our hierarchy. When a Globe-round is complete the process begins again at a higher level.

These seven Globes have different levels of materiality and we now live on the most materially dense Globe. We have reached this Globe by descending through four less dense but progressively more material Globes and will continue through three more Globes of decreasing density to complete the Globe round. The last Globe, Globe G is comparable to Globe A in Spirituality. There will be seven rounds in the Planetary Manvantara and these follow the same process.

The inhabitants of the Earth (all life) also go through the same process of descent into materiality and return to a higher plane. We are an integral part of the Earth and we evolve with it.

Human evolution is a bit more complicated that just the development of what we know as a Human Being and involves Stages of Manifestation (Group Reincarnation) in radically different forms known as Root Races.

Formless Worlds

The account above refers to the 4 Manifested Planes and the Globes that manifest on those planes. There are also 3 Unmanifested Planes which contain the 5 Arupa Lokas or Formless Worlds. These are included in the Tour of the Globes bringing the total number of Globes visited to 12.

H P Blavatsky concentrates on the 7 Manifested Globes and refers to them as Globes of the Chain. The 12 Globe system using the five Formless Globes can be found in “The Mahatma Letters to A P Sinnett”.
